I am going into my third year of studying law. On my first year with it being a rather intense and difficult course I really wanted something to take me away from studying and skydiving was the perfect stress relief. I started as a fresher doing the RAPs course and qualified this summer.
Skydiving is a great way to make new friends and meet people from all courses and even other uni's at the drop zone whilst having an awesome time throwing yourself out of a perfectly good plane. What could be more thrilling than experiencing human flight?! Although it can be a long road to qualifying once you are you can take the sport in so many directions and really make it your own, learn formation skydiving with friends, freefly in funky positions or eventually wingsuiting, there are so many options for you guys so get involved and have a great time skydiving but partying with us as well.
It may seem extremely daunting and scary at first to jump out of a plane but the fear is only temporary take up this incredible challenge to pove to yourself that nothing can stop you, even your own fear, we are here to support you guys and hopefully get you qualified and into the sport we love.
Happy skydiving!!
Secretary - Emily Williams
Qualifications: B licence, CH1, CH2, JM1, FS1, 100 jumps

Hi guys, I'm now going into my third year studying Physiology and Pharmacology. I started skydiving in my first year, initially doing the RAPS course, but then deciding to do AFF (Accelerated FreeFall) on the annual trip to California.
Joining the Skydiving society is literally one of the best decisions I've ever made, being a qualified skydiver is so much fun and it's so addictive, there really is no other feeling like the one you get jumping out of a plane and falling through the sky at 120 mph. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. There's so many different routes that you can take in the sport and it definitely beats running around a field with a ball :) A lot of people don't realise that it's a competitive sport but there are all sorts of team competitions that add an extra buzz to your freefall. So don't be shy come and get involved. Hope to see you soon!

Hi I'm Laura and I'm the new Social Secretary for Skydiving 2011-2012! I'm currently going into my first year, having completing a foundation course in Maths at UWE last year. I enjoyed my first year at UWE, joining skydiving was a good way to meet new people away from my course and everyone is very friendly.
Although I have only done one skydive so far, I am hoping to get more jumps in this year! I did my RAPS training course in October where you stay at the drop zone for a weekend. There were about 10 other UWE students who did the training course with me and we all had a great weekend. I will be helping to organise the socials next year so it would be good to see all the new members there along with the existing members!
Equipment and Safety Officers - Rebecca Casbeard and Paul Aubrey-Rees
Qualifications: Lots between the two of them :)
